Sewage Treatment

Sewage treatment plants receive all waste water from a property. Storm water must be excluded to prevent excessive flow during wet weather.

Unlike a septic tank a sewage treatment plant does not rely on a soakaway as part of the filtration process. The treated effluent meets Environment Agency standards and therefore can be discharged directly into a water course, stream, ditch, river or high level soakaway.

Independent Drainage are able to convert existing septic tanks / cess pits into a sewage treatment plant avoiding invasive and expensive groundworks.
